Enterprise teams are under pressure to “finish” AI transformation, but the real challenge is scaling operations without diluting brand. Agent OS marks the shift from headless repositories to agentic orchestration - starting with Polaris + Brand Kit and extending to Agent Builder for autonomous, governed workflows.

Every enterprise marketing and digital leader is being asked the same question: when will your AI transformation be done? But the harder question is how to deploy AI in a way that scales operations without diluting the one thing competitors cannot copy-your brand.

The digital experience sector is undergoing a critical architectural shift from "Headless" decoupled repositories to "Agentic" intelligent orchestration. At Contentstack, we recognized that most tools wait for users to act.
We wanted to flip that model by giving teams agents that take initiative, offer suggestions, and execute work in real time. That is why we built Agent OS-our new agent-powered execution layer.

From AI in Your Workflow to Automation You Control We started by putting AI directly in the flow of your work. With Polaris and our Brand Kit, teams could ask AI to draft, translate, and check content right where they work, always governed by systemic brand controls.

But the natural next question surfaced quickly: what if these multi-step, repetitive tasks didn't need to be prompted at all? What if they just ran on your rules, keeping a human in the loop exactly where you want them?

Enter Agent Builder-the next layer of Agent OS. It is the place where your team turns repetitive work into intelligent agents that run autonomously.

Two Paths to Production with Agent Builder

Every team starts their agentic journey in a different place. Some need a ready-made solution they can deploy today, while others want to build specialized agents for their unique content operations. Agent Builder supports both:

  • Templates: The fastest path to a working agent. Our template library covers the most common content operations, including Translation Drafting, Content Compliance Checking, and SEO Metadata Generation. Configure one, test it, and deploy. Because these agents run natively inside Agent OS, you can watch them execute in real time on your Agentic OS Dashboard rather than wondering what happened in a black box.

  • Custom Agents: Built in plain language. When you need something uniquely tailored to your workflows, Polaris builds it with you. Describe the agent you want in plain language, add custom instructions, connect the tools it needs, and set how it triggers. Those triggers include HTTP triggers, so an agent can activate from the tools your team already uses, and repeat triggers for work that runs on a schedule.

Connected to Your Whole Stack-And Beyond An agent is only as useful as what it can reach. True enterprise agentic AI requires contextual awareness and actionability.

Through Agent Builder, your agents can call tools from Launch, access Contentstack's product suite, make external HTTP requests, and connect to outside systems through Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
In practice, this means an agent can autonomously pick up an approved draft from a Google Doc via MCP, map it perfectly to your content model, and create a ready-to-review entry in Contentstack - all without anyone copying and pasting.

Find Your Starting Point

Not sure where to begin? The Agent Directory is a growing library of agent patterns organized by what they do, from brand governance to localization to commerce. Browse it to see what is possible and use it as a blueprint for your own builds.

If you are the one wiring agents into your stack, the developer site at developer.contentstack.com and the Build with AI guides are where to go next.
