We are excited to introduce Modular Blocks, a powerful new feature that gives content managers the ability to dynamically create components of a page or app, while preserving design integrity and consistency. Creating new pages, or modifying page structure, has never been this easy and fast!

With Modular Blocks, developers can create multiple sets (or groups) of fields within a block in a content type. Subsequently, content managers, while creating an entry, can choose any block (set of predefined fields) of their choice (such as banner, quotes, features), add more blocks, rearrange them, or remove them to make changes to the web page or app.

Imagine the power this gives to content managers. And the headache it saves for the developers.

Instead of engaging a developer for every minor change required in the page structure, now the content manager can mix-and-match blocks and create customized pages on-the-go.

Here’s how it works

While creating a content type, the developer adds the ‘Modular Blocks’ field in the content type builder, and adds one or more blocks in this field. They then add multiple fields within each block. For instance, the ‘customers’ block may contain ‘single-line textbox’, and ‘image’ fields; the ‘testimonials’ block may contain ‘multi-line textbox’ and ‘reference’ fields; and the ‘features’ block may contain ‘single-line textbox’, ‘rich text editor’, and ‘images’.

When the content manager starts creating an entry, they can choose from ‘Customers’, ‘Testimonials’ or ‘Features’ blocks, or add all of them, and then sort them as required.

You can use Modular Blocks for any type of content structure: website home page, blog, ecommerce pages, image galleries, and so on.

More about Modular Blocks

Author friendly templating

Once the developer creates a content type with the required modular blocks, it becomes very easy for the content managers to create dynamic content anytime. All they have to do is choose from a set of templates, and mix & match them to make rich pages without approaching the developer.

Flexible and lightweight

Content types were fixed content structures until now. Modular blocks make them flexible and give content editors the freedom to alter existing structure and add content components on the go.

Faster results

With the new modular blocks, making smaller changes to the structure of a page becomes easy and quick. The content manager can sort, add, remove, and move the components of Modular Blocks. This eliminates the need to bother a developer for minor changes.
