Contentstack is looking for a stellar DevOps Engineer to join our team full time! We are looking for a DevOps Engineer for our Cloud Operations team. The candidate will be responsible for architecting the infrastructure and work on day-to-day DevOps activities. This person will be part of the agile development cycle and work closely with different teams including R&D, Cloud operations, and customer success teams.

  • On-call support of production infrastructure and applications. Business hours support for development systems
  • Scripting (Bash or Python) and building of automation tools such as chef, ansible, AWS cloud formation
  • Supporting systems that have a web presence and maintaining uptime
  • This position will be required to participate in a rotating on-call pool
  • Implementing infrastructure and architectural designs, collaborating closely with engineering teams
  • Implementing security best practices for data at rest and data in motion
  • Identifying requirements and implementing tools that aid in faster deployment and better administration
  • Working with cloud architects and developers to create supportable designs and debug problems
  • Supporting development and testing environments on the cloud for customers
  • Creating knowledge articles and documentation to help internal teams and customers understand and leverage the system's capabilities
  • Learning on the job and exploring new technologies with little supervision


  • 2-5 years of DevOps experience
  • Any graduate with studies in computer science or similar
  • Strong working knowledge of both Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Application clustering/ load balancing
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Prior Java development experience is a strong plus
  • Ability to debug applications based on core dumps or exception stack traces
  • Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools and integration with application stacks

Mandatory Skills

  • Production experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
  • Node.js and MongoDB deployment
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems like Centos or Ubuntu
  • Containerisation: Docker, AWS ECS
  • Application hosting: Nginx, PM2, and MongoDB
  • Experience with cloud monitoring systems (CloudWatch, ICINGA or Sensu)
  • Experience with automation frameworks like Chef, Ansible, and AWS Cloud formation
  • Security and Compliance: AWS WAF, AWS Inspector, Application VAPT, AWS Config, Cloud trail, and AWS Guard duty
  • Application scaling and performance: AWS Autoscaling, Application load balancing and application load testing
  • Monitoring: Sensu or Nginx, Cloudwatch, Pingdom and Pagerduty
  • CI-CD: AWS Code Pipeline, AWS Code deploy, AWS code build, Jenkins
  • Git, Beanstalk and SVN
  • Experienced in cloud-based centralized clog management system like Logentries, Loggly or Splunk
  • ITIL certified
  • Experience with managing Saas service
  • Experience with incident management
