Role management within Linux is quite simple. We'll first start by accessing our list of current users from the top right menu. Simply clicking and going to Manage Users. Here, you'll be presented with a list of all current users for this specific account. Within this menu, you can go into a specific user, say Alice, and view all of the permissions that that current user has. Here, by toggling them on or off, I can grant or revoke access to specific roles that have been predefined. Likewise, I can give the user admin access, which is going to give access to all the other sub roles available. The best way to get started is going to be to go to learn.linux, where we have a section on managing account users and the specific permissions and roles available. Here, it's going to break down in finite detail what each role has access to, so that you can decide which role is best for each user on your team.

#### Lesson text

Find out how to assign roles and set permissions in Lytics.

**Note**: On January 10, 2023, we upgraded our UI with a new, refreshed interface. All of the underlying functionality is the same, but you will notice that things look a little different from this Academy guide. The most notable change is that the navigation menu has moved from the top of the app to the left side. We appreciate your patience as we work on updating our Academy.

## What will I learn?

* How do I invite users to my account?
* How do I change roles and permissions?
* What roles are available to assign?

In the "Access Control And Roles" video, we'll introduce you to Lytics user roles and how they can be modified to control which of your users has access to what.

For more information, see our [Managing Users documentation](https://docs.lytics.com/docs/account-users).

**Managing Personally Identifiable Information (PII)**

You can hide PII from any users who shouldn't have access to it by setting the private fields for your account.

#### Key takeaways

- Connect **Access Control and Roles** back to your stack configuration before moving to the next module.
- Capture one concrete artifact (screenshot, Postman call, or code snippet) that proves the step works in your environment.
- Re-read the delivery versus management boundary for anything you changed in the entry model.
